The Toddler II room is for children between the ages of 3 to 4 years. The classroom is more structured and includes both group exercises and teacher-led activities. The children work on life skills, puzzles, social skills, language arts, arts and crafts, music, colors, numbers, shapes, etc. Children begin the toilet training process, with parent participation, in the Toddler II room.
Curriculum
In our Toddler II classroom, we encourage each child to learn how to make choices. We have designed the classroom as a nurturing school atmosphere in Dallas, Texas, in such a way that each child can learn on an individual basis by choosing a center to engage in. In the toddler classroom, we will continue to focus on the six developmental domains. We will develop these domains by implementing age-appropriate activities in the following areas: language arts, math/cognitive, science/sensory, art, motor skills, and music and movement.
The staff will implement lesson plans that will increase their developing skills in a variety of age-appropriate activities. Each morning and afternoon, the children will participate in group time. In which they will work on recognizing shapes, colors, numbers, and letters. They will also introduce the calendar and weather elements. In addition, we will encourage healthy social interactions by making sure each child is aware of their friend’s feelings and helping them to engage in constructive play with other children. The children will be exploring the outside world with outside play time, both in the morning and afternoon (weather permitting).
We provide a rich variety of learning and development opportunities tailored to this dynamic age group:
- Language-building through songs, stories, and conversations
- Hands-on math and science exploration through sensory activities
- Physical development with climbing, balancing, and movement play
- Socialization skills, including sharing, group activities, and cooperative play
- Introduction to structured learning routines like circle time
- Potty training support and hygiene routines
- Creative expression through art, dance, and music
- Healthy meals, snacks, and nap/rest time
