Opening various learning opportunities

Our pre-toddler room is for children between 16 months and 2 years of age. We are working on advancing the skills and development that were started as newborns, especially the social-emotional aspect. We begin to direct the focus towards group activities, more often than individual activities. However, much of the day is still spent on free play. We do introduce the concepts of letter/number/color recognition through circle time. The children’s personalities really begin to emerge and develop more at this age. We have a fantastic amount of fun in this class.

Our program includes hands-on support to encourage both physical and cognitive development:

  • Age-appropriate play-based learning activities
  • Support with walking, grasping, and early mobility
  • Language development through music, reading, and repetition
  • Individualized feeding and nap schedules
  • Sensory activities for discovery and engagement
  • Social skill development through small-group interaction
  • Gentle guidance in basic routines like washing hands and putting away toys
