Our programs are focused on the overall development of the child.

PCDS provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch every day, along with a snack in the afternoon. Meals and snacks are served by Twelve Oaks Catering.

Park Cities Day School offers the following meal times: Morning Snack at 8:00 am, Lunch at 11:30 am, and Afternoon Snack at 3:30 pm.

Toddler I and Toddler II & Preschool Meals and snacks are provided by Twelve Oaks Catering. Meals are seen as part of the learning process, and children are served in their classrooms. They are encouraged to display proper table etiquette and to taste all the food that is served, but are not forced to eat anything. At no time is food withheld as punishment.

A written Infant Care Plan for children under twelve months of age must be completed and submitted by the mother or father. This plan should be updated monthly as new foods are added or other dietary changes are made.

All baby bottles (including the cap) must be clearly labeled with the child’s full name. No glass bottles can be used. Formula or breast milk must be brought in the appropriate amount for feeding and pre-mixed. Dry Cereal and jar food can be left in the Newborn classroom refrigerator with the child’s full name. Please bring in foods that have been tried for at least two weeks at home in order to protect against food allergies. Pacifier: If your child uses a pacifier, please mark it with your child’s initials. We will place the pacifier in your child’s cubby when not in use.

Bibs

Please provide 2–3 bibs each day with your child’s first and last name marked on the back. Dirty bibs will be sent home daily to be laundered.

Nap Time

All children from infants to Preschool are required to have a rest time after lunch and are encouraged to sleep during this time. Nap time is from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Children who fall asleep will be allowed to sleep until the end of the nap time. Children may bring a small item to comfort them and help them rest.

Personal Belongings

(What parents should bring to school for children)

  • At least two complete sets of clothing for the weather, with each item labeled with the child’s name or initials, including socks and underwear.
  • A supply of disposable diapers and disposable wipes for children who are in the newborn classroom.
  • All children will be outside during the day, weather permitting. Please make sure your child has adequate clothing for outside play. (This includes closed-toe shoes only. No open-toe shoes – flip-flops or boots will be allowed at school.)
  • All bottles and Sippy cups must be labeled.
